This is a condensed preview of this week's full Bible study lesson, available exclusively to paid subscribers.

Introduction

Christmas is ultimately about love—God's love for humanity demonstrated in the most extraordinary way possible. While the world focuses on exchanging gifts, decorating trees, and gathering with family, the heart of Christmas is the gift that surpasses all others: God giving His Son to show His love for us.

This isn't sentimental love or mere affection. It's sacrificial, costly love that moved heaven to act on behalf of lost humanity. The baby in the manger represents the greatest love story ever told.

I. God's Love EXPRESSED in Christ's Coming

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

The incarnation is the ultimate expression of God's love. Christmas demonstrates that God's love isn't just words or feelings—it's action that cost Him everything to provide salvation for humanity.

II. God's Love EXPERIENCED Through Salvation

"But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

We experience God's love not because we deserve it but because Christ made it possible through His sacrifice. This love transforms us from enemies to children, from condemned to forgiven.

III. God's Love EXTENDED Through Our Lives

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another" (1 John 4:11).

The love we receive at Christmas isn't meant to stop with us—it's meant to flow through us to others. Christmas love becomes Christmas living when we extend God's love to those around us.
